“Professional competence and experience cannot be improvised as they are the result of continuous research, constant growth and development. Our solid and deep roots contribute greatly in shaping our future but our customers are the ones who really push us one step ahead”.
We first launched this project in September 2016 before the latest K-Fair. At that time, we were ready to show our latest technological innovation with punch and die tilting mold technology on the new TWIST 700. During the presentation at the K-Fair, WM Thermoforming Machines received very positive feedback from the companies who were looking for suppliers who were able to deliver new tilting mold technology and at the same time allowing them to use their existing molds. In the first quarter of 2017, WM Thermoforming Machines has tested a number of molds for several new prospects.
During the last few years, we noticed a changing tendency in the cups market with always-higher forming depths for Polypropylene and PET products. Increasing the sheet thickness of Polypropylene cups and reaching a good product stiffness was not a problem while PET sheet thickness of 1,5 mm was hard to find on the market until 2 years ago.
Extrusion makers have progressively developed better machines and we had the opportunity to test PET sheets up to 1,8 mm with good results .
During the 2016 K-fair WM Thermoforming Machines sold its first TWIST 700 to a customer who was impressed by the state-of-the-art technology and performance. Our new customer immediately putted out a new challenge in order to achieve the 2.2mm thermoforming sheet thickness with PET material. Although we love facing new challenges, wewere doubtful of the results in producing a cup with such a high sheet thickness.
While waiting for the material rolls we started to prepare the machine configuration and analyzed the possible problems or limitations that could arise during the testing as we wanted to prevent any obstacle to reach our final goal.
After 2 months when we finally received the 2,2 mm PET sheet the machine was ready to do the first testing on the 180 mm cup. The outcome was very positive from the beginning and no further machine modifications were needed.
The customer was so satisfied after the machine testing that he did not wanted to postpone the delivery any longer and therefore organized the shipment of the New TWIST 700 by airfreight in order to reach its final destination.
“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, WM Thermoforming Machines makes it happen “
